Away Digital Ticketing Trial – Block 116
Please note that all tickets purchased in Block 116 will be issued as a digital ticket, as part of an Away Digital Ticketing Trial with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. Please only purchase tickets in this block if you are happy to receive your tickets in a digital format. This replicates the same process when using your Season Card via your mobile device to access London Stadium for home matches.

No traditional paper tickets will be issued for sales within this block under any circumstances and this is accepted and agreed to at time of purchase.

Trial my arse. Another control mechanism.

My issues.

1. Single point of failure. Lose your phone, lose your ticket.

2. You cannot pass your ticket on, which is how several people get away tickets. Puts the clubs in complete control of ticketing as you will be unable to forward tickets on.

3. For those of us who collect tickets, that's no longer an option.

I think we all knew this was coming, but it's a battle I'm willing to fight. I don't like having to rely on my phone for everything. It's convenient until you lose your phone.

60k home fans can't be compared to 2-3k away fans. The queues at away ticket offices are rarely long and the majority of people seem to be able to deal with digital tickets just fine.

It has nothing to do with looking for an argument, but this really isn't something to moan about other than for those who can't get away tickets via the normal channels and rely on others selling them on.

You're like that Monty Python sketch "I've come for an argument".

I'm sure we've all had to go to ticket office before matches at some point. I've had to queue for long periods and missed kick offs before matches when occasionally things go wrong. This has happened much more often at the bowl and almost always due to failures with digital tickets. In fact thinking about it, in three decades at the Boleyn I never had to sort any ticketing issue with ticket office immediately in advance of a match because there was never a problem with my tickets.

I don't want to have to sort out a problem at ticket office that can be avoided by having the additional option of printing PDF as well as a digital ticket that has to be downloaded to phones.

Perhaps that's what the club will do.

'if your phone dies or stops working on the day or whatever then yes that is a significant issue.'

Or just be a fucking adult about it and go to the ticket office.

Re: Digital away tickets
I've never lost a paper ticket.

I have had problems downloading/using electric ticketing before.

If there is the existing option ie it's emailed and then you can download to apple/google wallet or use as PDF then fine.

I suspect it will solely be apple/google wallet. In that situation, if your phone dies or stops working on the day or whatever then yes that is a significant issue.

Re: Digital away tickets
1. You can lose a paper ticket a hell of a lot easier than losing your phone.

2. It will probably be easier to pass tickets on as they'll arrive by email that you can forward on, much like cup tickets do for home games.

3. Stop being a fucking geek.

your ticket comes to you via an email right? IF, and IF you lose your phone. Then you log into your email via a mate.

Not difficult. If you lose it on match day, prob most likely you're too drunk and deserve to lose it tbh

Re: Digital away tickets
I really struggle to understand how digital tickets represent a single point of failure compared to paper tickets.

The tickets will need to be transferrable to cater for multiple ticket purchases. I suspect they will work in a similar way to our current system, which is frankly a massive improvement on paper tickets/ season ticket cards of yesteryear.

"Control mecahnism"? Get a grip. It's just technology moving on.

And you say 'sinlge point of failure' - what happens now if you lose your Tottenham ticket on the way to the ground?

It will stop those away ST holders from having a ST just so they can go to big games or get tickets for the cup final. I'm boosting their points total every time I have to buy one through them...

I don't mind if they miss the odd one, but I know people that do just as I I've described. Now the away tickets are fixed at £30, it's a no brainer for them, knowing they can sell on.

Re: Digital away tickets
Let's see the detail.

Will we be able to download e-ticket and then sort of 'release' it and download on a different device? It's possible that you still might be able to effectively "forward" it.

But I agree with paper tickets being preferable.
